A female teacher asked her 15-year-old student,
“Why are you late again?”
The boy replied,
“Ma’am, I dreamed I was playing football and scored the winning goal!”
The teacher sighed.
“That’s not an excuse for being late.”
The boy grinned and said,
“I know, ma’am…”
She raised an eyebrow.
“Then why were you late?”
He smiled innocently.
“Because the match went into extra time.”
The teacher tried not to laugh.
“Nice try. Sit down.”
He walked toward his desk.
Then the teacher called after him,
“Wait!”
He turned around.
“You’re late almost every day. What happened yesterday?”
He smiled.
“I dreamed I was playing football again.”
“And the day before?”
“Same thing.”
The teacher folded her arms.
“And last Monday?”
The boy nodded.
“Same dream.”
She sighed.
“Why do you keep having football dreams?”
He shrugged.
“Because my alarm clock keeps waking me up before the game ends.”
The entire class burst out laughing.
The teacher shook her head.
“Fine. But tomorrow, I expect you here on time.”
The boy nodded seriously.
“Yes, ma’am.”
“And no more excuses.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
He walked back to his seat.
Then he turned around and asked,
“Can I ask one question?”
“What?”
“Could you please not schedule the test during my football match?”
The teacher laughed.
“You’re lucky you’re funny.”
The boy smiled.
“I’m hoping that’s worth at least five points.”
She pointed toward his desk.
“Sit down.”
“Yes, Coach.”
The class erupted again.
And the teacher realized something every teacher eventually learns:
Sometimes the student who gives you the biggest headache is also the one who gives the whole class the biggest laugh. 😂⚽
